Memorial trail ride to go ahead
A LEISURELY horseback ride with the stunning back-drop of the Emu Creek valley is the ideal way to spend a Saturday, while also honouring the dream of a Yangan mum.
After twice being postponed due to wet weather, the Leanne Hoffman memorial trail ride will finally go ahead next weekend, in memory of Mrs Hoffman who lost her battle with melanoma 14 months ago.
Organised by the Yangan State School P&C, the ride will involve a leisurely 20km horse ride through the Emu Creek valley.
P&C president Ann Maree Kelly said Mrs Hoffman was actively involved in the school and holding the trail ride would bring one of her ideas to fruition.
“Before her death she was one of the main instigators of the idea of a trail ride to raise money for the school,” Mrs Kelly said.
For those not wanting to get on the back of a horse, bushwalking, a campfire and evening entertainment will finish off the day.
The ride will take place on Saturday March 12 from 8am and the cost is $30 for adults and $25 for under 18s.
The cost to campers not riding will be $5.
