Last BRL games of season not to be missed
RUGBY LEAGUE: The last two games of the Border Rugby League competition are fast approaching.
Tenterfield Tigers will play Killarney Cutters in Tenterfield on Saturday.
The winner of the semi-final will face Inglewood the weekend after on Saturday, August 26 in the BRL grand final.
Stanthorpe Senior Rugby League spokesman Paul Shatte said regardless of which side emerged as the winner of the weekend's semi-final, the grand final would definitely make for an interesting game.
The grand final will be played in Inglewood.
Shatte said he and the Stanthorpe Senior Rugby League would like to congratulate the three other sides, Killarney, Tenterfield and Inglewood and wished them injury-free games in the next couple of weeks.
"They certainly deserve to be there, especially Tenterfield and Inglewood,” he said.
"They have been the two better sides all year.”
Shatte said he would like to encourage more players and teams to enter the Border Rugby League competition next year.
"We could have a great little six- or seven-team comp,” he said.
"That would be good.
"I just keep on wishing that it happens.”
