Lambie 'dined with the devil' Clive Palmer after split

JACQUI Lambie says she dined with "the devil" when she met Clive Palmer for a drink to discuss her ex-leader's position on better pay for the defence force.

A photograph emerged on social media on Sunday night showing the pair meeting at Canberra's Hotel Hotel, a surprising move given the toxic nature of the pair's relationship.

Speaking on her way into parliament for the final session of the year, Senator Lambie confirmed the encounter - possibly their first since her resignation from the Palmer United Party last Monday.

"I did have a meeting with the devil himself," she told reporters.

"I went and met with him and made sure that I could get his support on what's going on with the defence personnel.

"I will meet with the devil himself but I won't be selling my soul."
