World champion boxer on drug charges has case delayed
DRUGS charges against Toowoomba boxer Michael Katsidis have been adjourned for three months.
The 33-year-old was not in Toowoomba Magistrates Court yesterday when two charges of possessing restricted drugs were mentioned.
The charges arise from police allegedly finding six prescription tablets, believed to be a form of sleeping pills, at a Toowoomba home on May1.
At the initial mention of the matters in June, the court was told the tablets did not belong to the boxer.
Upon a defence request, Magistrate Damian Carroll remanded Katsidis on bail and adjourned the case to November 18 so the tablets could be analysed by the government laboratory.
