Killarney crowns its show royalty
ON Saturday night the Killarney Show and Rodeo Society crowned its 2011 Showgirls at the spectacular show ball.
In her opening speech, Killarney Show and Rodeo president Sonya Carr acknowledged the time and effort the entrants and their families had put into the quest.
Mrs Carr said it was not an easy task for the young girls, with much background work being done in the months leading up to the announcement of the winners.
Courtney Darragh was crowned the 2011 Killarney Showgirl.
Courtney thanked all the people who helped her in the quest with fundraising events, and Show president Sonya Carr for her support of all the entrants in the 2011 quest.
Miss Renee Weier was crowned 2011 Charity Queen, having raised more than $4000.
Killarney State School Year 10 student Tori Faithful was crowned Miss Junior Showgirl and Macee Grayson Miss Show Princess.
The four showgirls will be busy at the Killarney Show next weekend, attending official functions over the two days.
