Kids make big splash

WARWICK Swimming Club members won 30 medals at the Darling Downs Country Championships Carnival at Stanthorpe on Saturday.

The carnival was restricted to clubs outside the Toowoomba City boundaries and included St George, Roma, Dalby, Gatton, Goondiwindi, Chinchilla, Millmerran, Allora, Texas, Miles, Pittsworth and the host club Stanthorpe.

The carnival attracted 220 swimmers.

Warwick president Ross Brackin said swimmers from his club conducted themselves well and gave 100% in the water.

"Most came away with personal-best times," Brackin said.

After a short break for Christmas, Warwick Swimming Club nights are back at WIRAC from 6pm each Friday.

New members are welcome and the emphasis is on bettering personal best times rather than winning races.
