Kid's Club huge hit for church

SOME may say it's a challenge finding things to do for our young people in Stanthorpe but the community of people at Vineyard Christian Church are leading a charge to provide opportunity for youth of all ages to connect on a weekly basis during the school terms.

Pastor Jeremy launched the Kid's Club with his wife Anita at the beginning of the year.

"Our kid's club has been the biggest hit for the year” he said.

"Since we opened our new Vineyard Youth Hub in February, it has certainly had a lot of use. Our Kid's Club was launched for kids in grade 3 to 6 at school and we've had over 30 different children come across the year. There is capacity for this to grow even further.

"Kids come and enjoy an action-packed program filled with drama, puppet shows, multimedia, craft, games and songs, and don't forget the free afternoon tea!

"The kids absolutely love the program.”

Kid's pastor at Vineyard Christian Church, Anita said: "What we love most is that we have Vineyard church kids who mix with other kids from the community and they have so much fun together. You don't need to be a member of Vineyard Christian Church to come along and be part of the free weekly youth programs that we run.

"We present a positive life message that is relevant regardless of your background or beliefs. We believe that the encouragement we receive from the Bible and from the message of Jesus still has relevance today for everyone.”

The high school youth program has also had some excellent highlights this year, with Singstar challenges on the Playstation, movie nights showing some inspirational movie choices, progressive dinners and a 'P' party to close out term 3.

"Our high school Vineyard youth program is about creating an inclusive environment for high school students to feel safe, accepted, valued and appreciated. In a world that offers up so many challenges to our young people, it's the least we can do to help support the youth of our community,” Pastor Jeremy said.

Vineyard Kid's Club for children in grades 3-6 at school runs every Friday during school terms from 3.30-5pm. Vineyard Youth, the high school youth program, runs from 6-7.30pm every Friday during school terms. Vineyard Kid's Church is a tailored church service that is relevant for walking age right through to grade 6 at school and runs every Sunday as part of the 9am family church service at Vineyard Christian Church. All events run at the Vineyard Youth Hub, on the site of Vineyard Christian Church, 85 Connor St, and new people are always most welcome to join our programs and church services.
