Kara still in hospital

FORMER Warwick woman Kara Abood is expected to remain in hospital for about another week, following a head-on collision at Morwincha, near Aratula, last week.

Contrary to information reported in the Daily News last week, the 21-year-old suffered predominantly spinal injuries when the car she was travelling in collided with another car last Wednesday morning.

Miss Abood was also alone in her vehicle at the time, not with a male passenger as earlier reported.

A spokesman for the Princess Alexandra Hospital said Miss Abood was confined to bed and would spend at least another week in hospital.

A 31-year-old man travelling in the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the hospital and the woman in his vehicle was flown to hospital with multiple injuries.

It is believed the woman driving the other vehicle sustained serious head, leg and pelvic injuries and was trapped in the vehicle for about an hour.

Investigations into the accident are continuing.
