It's Party time as girls take title

BRING the Party won the Warwick Volleyball Association season two women's grand final on Monday night with a 3-2 victory against Fruit Loops.

Fruit Loops won the first two sets before Bring the Party won the next three.

Rae Lewis was in sensational form in the grand final for Fruitloops. The serving of Bonita Tyler was a major factor in the comeback by Bring The Party.

The men's grand final also went to five sets with Team Deadwood winning 3-2 against NADS.

Marianne Clayton plays mixed volleyball and also enjoys the stronger competition in men's. She continued her consistent form all season in the grand final.

In the mixed grand final, Reloaded won 3-0 against K-Ks.

The Reloaded team won the minor premiership on the back of an outstanding team effort. Lesley Clayton was one of the stars of a team which continued its strong form into the final.

Kerri Fitch was one of the best all season for K-Ks.

Association treasurer Rachel King said the executive was looking forward to adding more teams in the 2012 season.

"We started the first season this year in January with 80 players but numbers dropped off to 60 for the second season," King said.

"The biggest drop in numbers was in the men's competition; we started with six teams in the first season and only had four teams in the second season."

All trophies were presented after the grand finals.

The first season for 2012 will start with a muster on January 23 at 6pm at the Warwick State High School Great Hall. Anyone interested in nominating a team or being allocated to a team is welcome to call King on 0412637348. Children aged 14 and above are welcome to play in mixed and women's with boys welcome to play men's from 16.
