BRYCE Lamb can't wait to wear the maroon of Queensland for the first time at Morgan Park today in the Barastoc Polocrosse Nationals, but prefers to be the one stopping rather than scoring goals.

The Killarney boy who plays polocrosse for the Cunningham club is a second-generation state player. His father Haydn Lamb has represented Queensland at the nationals.

"I usually play one (shooter) or three (defence) but rather stop goals," Bryce said.

He is one of two Southern Downs players in the Queensland junior mixed team.

Captain Carly Cooper hails from Cunningham and will play in her second nationals.

Warwick player Jacob Lawrence will play in his second nationals after his team was third in 2010.
