Huge game looms for Ballandean, Warwick
Warwick 2 v Ballandean 2
THIS will be a huge game for both teams.
Will Warwick make the grand final in their first season with Football Stanthorpe, or will it mean Ballandean's first grand final appearance for well over a decade?
If Ballandean can hold out the Davey brothers they are a chance. If not, they may have to score three goals to win it, which will be hard for Ballandean to do.
The Davey boys are the key to Warwick - if they can control the midfield, they will be the victors.
Ballandean recruit Ace McDonald, along with stalwart John Spiller, need to close down Warwick and be creative at the same time to give the Mountain Men any chance.
Should be a tough final. I'm tipping Warwick but only just.
Tenterfield 2 v City 1
Tenterfield is unlucky to be playing this week. The side gave United a close game and City would be hoping that it took something out of them.
Tenterfield should be too fast in attack for City, which could see a number of scoring opportunities.
If City can hold them out, they may get Tenterfield on the rebound.
City has done well to get this far but Tenterfield and United have been the two strongest teams this year - Tenterfield just have to prove it this weekend to get another shot at United.
Nerves may play a part with a number of young players in both sides.
United 2 v Ballandean 1
The Redbacks are down on numbers but may still get over the line this weekend.
Ballandean can cause a boil over though and will give everything in this match.
United's Arbcil Kamara is finishing the season strongly, with Damon Allen very tough in defence.
Robert Coelli is the key for the Mountain Men while Billy Jurd has been in great form recently, scoring for both colts' and men's teams. Penalties?
Ballandean 2 v United 2
Both teams have shared the honours evenly this year but will United recover from last weekend's loss to Inter?
Momentum is everything in finals football and Ballandean has that at the moment.
I will tip a draw and let the kids decide the winner in penalties.
A tough way to win or lose a game but that's football.
All teams will be played at Ballandean this Saturday. Times as follows:
- 11am - Junior Colts
- 12:30pm - Senior Colts
