Hook caught child on back after woman allegedly threw rod

A 24-YEAR-old woman who allegedly threw a fishing rod at a child and injured his back was arrested on Saturday afternoon outside the Hervey Bay Sailing Club in Urangan.

Police arrested the woman about 5.45pm.

It is alleged when the woman threw the fishing rod, a hook caught the child on the back.

The woman will face court on several charges including assault occasioning bodily harm, obstructing police and going armed to cause fear.
