Honours for youth

AS part of National Youth Week celebrations, two award ceremonies will be held to celebrate the contributions of young people across the Southern Downs.

Southern Downs Regional Council community youth worker and event organiser Bonita Tyler said the ceremonies were to recognise the young people who made a positive difference in small communities.

"Each year we see hundreds of young people volunteer to help with youth and community projects across the region, and it's great to see some of those people recognised," Ms Tyler said.

"We would like to encourage everyone to think about a young person who has made a difference in their workplace, sport or community from April 2011 to April 2012."

Nominations are available on the Southern Downs Regional Council website, from the Warwick Town Hall youth office and the Stanthorpe council office.

Nominations close on March 12. Phone 46617166 for more details.
