
Saints double up against Wyverns
SAINTS scored a double in Warwick Hockey Association fixtures at the weekend.
In the men's game on Friday night, Saints beat Wyverns 6-2, while Saints won the ladies game 2-0 against Wyverns on Saturday afternoon.
As always, Toni Cox was strong in defence for Saints while Ayden Gillam and Lauren Eastwell were two of the best in an impressive group of star schoolgirls in the Wyverns side.
Wyverns played a second game of men's hockey on Saturday and went down 4-3 to Scots PGC in an exciting game.
Darren Grayson was strong for Wyverns while experienced pair Chris Malone and Andrew Millard led the way for the student's team.
Harlequins ladies beat Corinthians 8-1 on Friday night with Hayley Millard the best in a beaten team.
Corinthians had a convincing win against Harlequins men on Friday night.
Two weekends of fixtures remain before the finals series starts on the first weekend in September.
The 2010 summer competition will start after the September/October school holidays.
Nominations from teams or individuals are being sought.
Teams from business and organisations are welcome as well as teams organised by individual players.

Trophy dinner
WARWICK Hockey Association secretary Rebecca Wright is hoping a crowd of more than 100 will attend the trophy night on September 6 at the Condamine Sports Club.
“Last season, trophies were presented after the grand finals but the association has gone back to holding a trophy night,” Wright said.
Awards are presented to the top players and also to the association person of the year.
Tickets from club delegates and association officials at a cost of $20 for adults and $15 for juniors.
