Calling all hockey enthusiasts

THE Warwick Hockey Association is on the hunt for some new recruits as the beginning of their season nears.

But treasurer Toni Cox says that without players, the club will not survive.

"We want people to sign up so we can start organising competitions because it's hard to organise anything when you don't know who will be here," Cox said.

The club has signed up about 50 members, but to operate at full capacity they need about 300.

Cox said if anyone had ever considered playing hockey, now was the time.

Junior games start this Saturday and the seniors' in two weeks time, depending on the completion of the hockey surface.

They are also looking for a canteen convenor for Saturday game days.
