White Swan sold for bumper price
THE heritage-listed White Swan Inn, east of Warwick, has sold for $50,000 above the reserve after going to auction last weekend.
PRD Nationwide principal Robert Koremans said the historic sandstone building was purchased by a Brisbane business couple, who have plans to make the former bed and breakfast their private residence.
Mr Koremans couldn’t confirm the price and said instead it was $50,000 above the reserve set by the Toowoomba businessman, who has owned the inn for a decade.
“It was a positive outcome in what is a very flat market,” he said.
Meanwhile negotiations are continuing for the former St Andrews Anglican Church, which was also offered as part of the same vendor’s portfolio.
Mr Koremans said he had two parties interested in the church and he was confident a contract would be finalised later this week.
“The uniqueness of these two buildings and their historical significance has been the key selling point,” he said.
The third part of the property parcel offered on Saturday, a 3.73ha block, which was formerly the Swan Creek Cricket Pitch, was passed in without a bid.
