His Holiness The Dalai Lama is coming back to Queensland
THE Dalai Lama will visit Queensland for the third time in 33 years, but it remains unclear as to whether Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk or a member of her government will meet with him.
His Holiness, in his 10th Australian visit since 1982, will visit Sydney, Perth, Uluru and Brisbane in June, but has chosen the Sunshine State to participate in a multi-faith event with the leaders of nine other religions at St Stephen's Catholic Cathedral.
A two-day Buddhist teaching is also on offer, as is a public talk at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. Both are ticketed events.
A spokesman for Ms Palaszczuk said the Premier would consider meeting with the Dalai Lama, if she received an invitation.
Ms Palaszczuk may be saved from having to make an awkward decision, with her US trade mission corresponding with the Buddhist leader's arrival. It remains unknown if another government MP would meet with him in her place.
