Helicopter rescue from cliff face part of training exercise

QUEENSLAND Fire and Emergency Services will take part in a multi-agency exercise on Friday.

The exercise will involve rescue and recovery of persons who have fallen from the cliff face.

Two live "casualties" and one training dummy will require vertical extraction including medical evacuation by a helicopter.

Residents can watch the exercise take place between 10am -12pm at Jubilee Esplanade in Point Arkwright, Yaroomba.

The QFES response will involve an auxiliary crew from Coolum and permanent crews from QFES Maroochydore Technical Rescue.

Surf Life Saving Queensland, Queensland Ambulance Service and the Surf Life Saving Westpac Helicopter will also be involved.
