Healthy for NAIDOC

THE Darling Downs Hospital and Health Service is hosting a NAIDOC Week event this Thursday at Stanthorpe Hospital.

The event highlights local indigenous women working to improve the health of their communities.

"This year's theme focuses on the roles Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women have played, and continue to play, at community, local, state and national levels,” DDHHS Executive Director Medical Services Dr Martin Byrne said.

He said it was a great opportunity for hospitals to showcase their facilities to the local community, while celebrating an important national event.

There will be dance performances, food and health information.

The event is on July 19 at Stanthorpe Hospital, 8 McGregor Tce from 11am-2pm.
