Head back to school in style

WHO said school uniforms had to be boring?

This year at Gleesons Mercery you can get some of the trendiest new backpacks to mix things up for school.

What's even better is along with bright coloured backpacks, there are plenty of matching pencil cases, lunch boxes and drink bottles.

Store owner Brenden Kay said there were plenty of fun bags in stock this year.

"There's been a fair few favourites,” he said.

"The Rip Curl ones are coming with tough bases for extra toughness.

"There's some bright coloured Billabong and Fox ones also.

"There's some matching pencil cases.”

Along with the variety of colourful bags and lunch boxes, Gleesons Mercery still has all the uniform essentials.

Mr Kay said they had all the local schools covered.

"We've got Stanthorpe State High School uniforms for senior and junior,” he said.

"We've got all of StJoseph's from Prep to Grade 12, and all of the primary state school from Prep to Year 6.”

Even with the summer heat still around, Gleesons Mercery is prepared for the cooler upcoming months.

"We've also got winter uniforms,” Mr Kay said with a laugh.

"Not that people are thinking about winter right now.

"But it will cool off.”

He said the store had school students covered from top to bottom.

Plenty of hats and socks were hung up throughout the store.

Parents need not worry about finding their child's uniform, Gleesons Mercury has stacks of great stock at the moment.

Mr Kay encouraged people to get in store and get sorted for school.

"We've got plenty of stock and happy to fit everybody out.”
