Have your say on the Allora Streetscape

TOMORROW marks the start of a two-day public consultation on the rejuvenation of the Allora streetscape.

It’s your opportunity to have a say on what you want the Allora main street to look like in future.

Southern Downs Regional Council officers and landscape architect Stephen Palmer will be on hand to take your feedback and show samples of types of treatments like paving, awnings and shade covers.

Fifty thousand dollars has been set aside in this financial year to develop designs for enhancing the streetscape in the main business area along Herbert Street between Warwick and Drayton streets.

“The goal is to develop an attractive sense of place that builds on the current character, has community support and enhances long term business, tourism and town development opportunities,” Mayor Ron Bellingham said.

The mayor said once end designs were adopted, council would look at funding sources for any associated construction.
