Gremlins out of the finals
THE Texas Terriers will go on to play the Tenterfield Tigers in the Border Rugby League grand final next Sunday after defeating the Stanthorpe Gremlins in the Border Rugby League preliminary final on Saturday.
The Terriers led 14-6 at half-time before scoring 17 points to the Gremlins 6 in the second half to win 31-12.
Stanthorpe spokesperson Peter Shatte said the Terriers' forwards pack was too strong on the day and led the way for the Terriers win.
The Tenterfield Tigers reserve grade side will line up along side their A-grade team next Sunday to play the Stanthorpe Gremlins in the BRL reserve grade grand final after defeating the Texas Terriers 22-12.
Scorers: Texas – tries: Ron Paginan 2, Robbie Morris 2, Kev Lowery, Bennett Sutton 1 try each, Bennett Sutton 3 goals and Dave Williams 1 field goal.
Stanthorpe – Daniel Wertenbach 2 tries, Jason Wilmot 2 goals.
The BRL grand final is next Sunday at Tiger Park, Tenterfield, with reserve grade kicking of at 1pm and A-grade at 2.30pm.
