Granite Belt wine on capital menu
A GRANITE Belt wine has made it to the top table at a Parliamentary lunch in the nation’s capital, Federal LNP Member for Maranoa Bruce Scott said.
A Parliamentary Luncheon held in honour of His Excellency Mr Sukhbaatar Batbold MP Prime Minister of Mongolia and Mrs Khorloo Otgontuya yesterday featured a Robert Channon Verdelho Granite Belt 2010.
Mr Scott said guests at the lunch who enjoyed the Verdelho included High Commissioners, Ambassadors, senior business executives and Members of Parliament.
“To have their wine showcased at such an important event is a great achievement and testament to the wine-making skills of Robert Channon and his family,” he said.
“The recognition of Robert Channon’s wines in Parliament House puts the wine producing region of south Queensland’s Granite Belt in the national spotlight.
“I received a number of very favourable comments from the guests about the wine and I can only hope this is just the first of many occasions where I see Queensland wines showcased in the Great Hall at State celebrations.”
Mr Scott will continue to recommend Queensland’s premium wines for all Parliamentary events.
