Goodies at garage sale
ALL sorts of bargains were up for grabs at St Mark’s Church hall garage sale on Saturday.
Stallholders did a roaring trade on all sorts of bits and bobs but it was the baked goodies that flew off the shelves the fastest.
The garage sale was organised by Friends of St Mark’s which is presently trying to raise money for a new roof for the entrance porch of the historic church.
This latest event follows fundraising efforts earlier in the year, which included a fashion show and soup and sweets day.
Elaine Stewart, from Friends of St Mark’s, said they were on their way to raising the $13,000 needed for the maintenance work and she hoped Saturday’s sale would get the group one step closer to its goal.
