Glam night to launch festivities
IT IS show season again and tonight is the night that Warwick festivities start at the annual show ball.
Masks, flowers and a fairy light-lit archway adorn the venue after several volunteers spent yesterday setting up.
Women's Auxiliary chairperson Nancy Gross said a lot of effort had gone in to decorating.
"We've been working on the ball since Christmas, making flowers and decorations and cutting out masks," Mrs Gross said.
"It's sad that the young girls can't be here to help because they have jobs and can't get time off during the day.
"It will be a great night for everyone though."
Warwick Show Society treasurer Michelle Hanigan said it was not too late to get your ball ticket.
"Tickets will be available at the door with adults costing $32," Mrs Hanigan said. "The theme is masquerade so if you want to get dressed up you can."
After an anxious wait tonight is also the night that the Warwick Showgirl will be announced.
Mrs Gross said the girls would be judged in three categories - showgirl with a runner-up, junior showgirl and overall fundraiser.
"The showgirls will have dinner with the judges and be assessed on their public speaking, general knowledge and interest in the show and community," she said.
When: Tonight at 6.30pm
