THE Granite Belt Support Services annual disability dance is just eight sleeps away and with heaps of great giveaways it is a not-to-be-missed event.

This year's theme is "always green and dark blue” with attendees encouraged to dress in their most creative costumes.

Best dressed will win a massage and hamper pack, second place will win a car radio and third will take home a pamper pack full of chocolates and other goodies.

Event coordinator Karol Pasin said the event, which marks the beginning of Disability Action week, was the perfect way for locals to have a fun time while interacting with people in the disability community.

"They're just average people who (like) to have a good time like everyone else,” she said.

The family friendly event kicks off at 6pm on September 7 at the International club.

Entry is a gold coin donation and food and drink will be for sale on the night.

There will also be a lucky door prize and a raffle throughout the night.
