Get online savvy with GraniteNet Inc

NEXT week GraniteNet Inc will help residents improve their digital skills thanks to the international campaign Get Online Week.

The event, taking place at 159 High Street, Stanthorpe and online via the mysoutherndowns.com.au/try1thing website, gives everyone the chance to make the most of the internet, no matter how confident they were online.

Get Online Week running from October 15-21, will see hundreds of community events take place across the country.

It is the first time the campaign has been held in Australia, after 11 successful years in the UK .

The campaign aims to support the two and a half million Australians who are not online.

GraniteNet Inc president Andrew Williamson said many people in our region still didn't use the internet at all or had very poor access to acceptable speeds.

"And we're here to help,” he said.

"Getting the most out of the internet doesn't have to be scary. Doing just one new thing online is all you need to do to get started - come along to our event and we can help you do just that.”

"We'll be holding our Get Online Week event at 9am to 3pm from Monday, October 15 to Friday, October 19 at 159 High Street, Stanthorpe, and there'll be lots of friendly support for anyone who wants to start doing a bit more online - and it's absolutely free.”
