AS PART of the 100th anniversary of Armistice and the end of WWI the Amiens Legacy Centre officially opened for Remembrance Day.
Amiens Historical Association assistant secretary Colleen Willis estimates more than 700 people attended the event.
"We had three times as many people as we had expected really, which was a good problem to have," she said.
"It went extremely well, we had very very positive feedback.
"We had a lot of support from local people we had overseas and interstate and all across Queensland visitors."
She thanked all of the people who donated and volunteers to make the day come together.
"By and large it was locals who supported us.
"It was a beautiful day, people were very generous
"We raised quite a bit of money for our organisation."
