Gallen to stay in the Sharks’ pool

CRONULLA captain Paul Gallen is set to finish his career as a one-club player after re-signing for the 2016 NRL season.

The 33-year-old made his senior debut for the club against Parramatta in round 15 of the 2001 season, and sits second on the all-time list at the Sharks with 251 games, behind only club great Andrew Ettingshausen (328).

Club chief executive Lyall Gorman said the extension would allow Gallen to have a boxing match during a specific window during the off-season, and placed no restriction on him playing representative football next year.
