‘FULL FRONTAL’: Man exposes himself to supermarket worker

A MAN who allegedly harassed and exposed himself to a female employee at the Warwick Woolworths this week, returned to the scene two days later only to be charged again, this time for allegedly flouting social distancing rules.

Police allege that on Tuesday, the Loganlea man allegedly approached a staff member stacking shelves and starting swearing and making violent comments towards the woman.

According to Senior Sergeant Jamie Deacon, when the woman didn't respond, the man allegedly exposed himself.

While the staff member "laughed off" the event, Sen-Sgt Deacon said no one should be subjected to that sort of behaviour in their workplace.

"Obviously everyone goes to work and assumes that bad things won't happen to them," he said.

"It is their right to expect they will be treated with dignity and respect."

"If a situation like this arises and you need police assistance, call us.

"These are breaches in the public standard of behaviour."

The man was charged by police for wilful exposure, two drug related offences and public nuisance.

On Wednesday he was taken into custody, charged and released on bail.

But on Thursday, police were called again to the same store.

Sen-Sgt Deacon said police will allege the 59-year-old started yelling at staff members, who said he disobeyed the store's social distancing guidelines.

"He allegedly walked over to a customer and stood right behind the person," Sen-Sgt Deacon said.

"When an employee asked him to obey the social distancing rules, he allegedly said 'Shove social distancing up your a---'."

Police took the man into custody and charged him with public nuisance and released him on bail again.

He is scheduled to appear before Warwick Magistrates Court on all five charges on September 9.
