Frozen berries linked to Canberra Hep A case

ACT Health has linked a confirmed case of hepatitis A to the consumption of frozen berries in Canberra.

It is the first case in the ACT and brings the national total of hepatitis A cases to 19.

Frozen berries from two Chinese factories were linked to the hepatitis A outbreak and cannot be sold in Australia until at least June.

Australian Medical Association ACT president Dr Elizabeth Gallagher said the most important thing was for people not to panic.

"We have withdrawn the berries," she said.
