Fran does it and loves it

FRAN Hockings is probably a face many people would recognise around town.

As a mother-of-three and grandmother as well Fran spends her time volunteering and enjoying what life has to offer.

Fran had been volunteering at the Warwick Visitor's Information Centre for the past six years and stumbled into volunteering for Jumpers and Jazz after that.

"I do it to keep my brain active and I get to meet lots of fantastic people from all around the world and Australia," Fran said.

"I love it when tourists come back and say how much they loved a place we recommended. I plan on volunteering for as long as possible. You don't give up what you love."

Fran also loves experiencing the south-east Queensland's highlights she recommends to tourists.

"One of my favourite things to do in the region would probably have to be sitting on top of Mt Mitchell watching the eagles soar at eye level," Fran said.

"There were three of us up there one day and we sat and watched them fly and it was just breathtaking.

"The river walk early on a winter's morning when there is frost on the ground is also a favourite."
