Founding members honoured

THE Warwick District Recreational Fish Stocking Association Inc presented life membership badges to two founding members of the group, Les Meiklejohn and Bob Reid, at its committee meeting last Thursday afternoon.

Yesterday, the fish stocking group took delivery of 32 boxes of golden perch for the rivers in our shire.

A total of 250 fingerlings were released into the Condamine River and Dalrymple Creek by members.

All the murray cod ordered this stocking season have been delivered and released into Leslie and Connolly Dams, the Condamine River and Dalrymple Creek.

So far this season, the association has stocked 140,000 golden perch into Leslie Dam with another 160,000 still to be delivered.

Is it any wonder fishermen are grinning from ear to ear.

The silver perch ordered should be delivered in the next few weeks.

The annual Sunfish Take A Kid Fishing Day this year is being held statewide on March 25.

Join in at Connolly Dam at 8am.
