Fishermen stranded 30km off Capricorn Coast
TWO men aged in their 30s were fishing 60km off the Capricorn Coast on Tuesday when they noticed the boat was taking on water.
The pair decided to head back to shore, but about 30km out the five and a half metre vessel developed engine problems.
The Coast Guard at Keppel Sands received a request for assistance via the police at 8.15pm.
CHSS Rescue and its crew were quickly in the water and on its way to help the stricken boat.
The stricken vessel was then sighted at Lisa Jane shoals and towed back to shore without incident at 11.30pm.
Inspections are being carried out as to why the boat began taking on water.
