Fireys battle to contain Rivertree inferno
MORE than 900 hectares in the Rivertree area is up in flames.
Crews are continuing to battle a blaze at Rivertree Rd, near Liston and Undercliffe with the fire currently at advice level.
Multiple crews are on site, with some from the Granite Belt aiding in bringing the bush fire under control.
Torrington, to the west of Tenterfield, is at emergency warning alert level, with more than 59,000 hectares burning in the vicinity of Gulf Rd.
A million hectares have now been razed across New South Wales since the start of this year’s unprecedented bushfire season.
Three people were killed and at least 150 homes destroyed on the state’s mid-north coast and northwest where bushfires ravaged regional towns at the weekend.
