Fire ban extended as dangerous conditions continue

DUE to heightened bushfire conditions, the current fire ban in place in the Southern Downs and Toowoomba regions has been extended to 11.59pm tonight.

The ban prohibits the lighting of fires in the open and all permits to light a fire previously issued have now been cancelled.

Dangerous conditions have also prompted the ban to be extended in other areas of Queensland, including Bundaberg, North Burnett, South Burnett, Cherberg, Fraser Coast and Gympie.
