SCORES of art-lovers flocked to the Stanthorpe Regional Art Gallery on Saturday night for the first fundraiser in support of the 2016 Stanthorpe Art Festival.

About 100 people enjoyed fine food and wine provided by sponsors from around the Granite Belt and were entertained by local band Aperitif.

The Stanthorpe Art Festival has been moved from late summer to a winter event and will open on June 3, 2016.

The gallery has also decided to increase the prize money for competition winners, meaning fundraisers like Saturday night's are vital.

Drinks on the night were supplied by sponsors Sirromet Wines, Ballandean Estate Wines, Granite Belt Brewery and Brass Monkey Brewhouse.

Granite Belt Wine and Tourism marketing director Guy Cantrell also presented winners of GBWT's photography competition with certificates.
