This M’boro pilot is taking die-hard local footy fans north
MARYBOROUGH pilot Tim Briest has seen an opportunity to help Fraser Coast rugby league diehards while filling a gap in the aviation market.
The managing director of Mile High Aviation has offered up his charter flight services to Townsville this Friday for the NRL's Broncos V Cowboys game at 1300SMILES Stadium.
"We do anything from scenic flights to corporate charters to aerial work for things like powerline checking," Mr Briest said.
"We haven't done a flight for a footy game before, it'll be our first time."
Would you consider using the new flight service from the Fraser Coast?

Yes I would much prefer to support a local pilot
No I would prefer to use Qantas, even thought it's more expensive

Mr Briest said he was spurred on to offer charter flights to the game after seeing major airlines bump up their ticket prices.
Football fans will remember a similar situation where airlines jacked up flights prices last year in October when the two Queensland teams made it to the Grand Final in Sydney.
"I personally got upset," Mr Briest said.
"For us it's the cost of doing business, but major airlines could do those flights a lot cheaper.
"We're doing it for the love of it."
A ticket on Mr Briest's charter direct from Hervey Bay to Townsville will cost fans around $1200, while Qantas is offering a ticket from Brisbane to Townsville for $1268 with two stops along the way.
