LATEESHA Stabile is super excited she can part of the 2018 Apple and Grape Harvest Festival.
The 17 year old said the festival was such a big thing for the community that she couldn't wait to help raise funds for it.
Lateesha helped her sister Tori Stabile, who originally signed up for the Community Bank ambassador role, organise fundraisers and begged her mum, Katie McKenzie, to let her become a Young Ambassador in 2020.
"It's always been me there with my sister,” Lateesha said.
As Lateesha is only 17, she is not allowed to represent a local business as a Young Ambassador just yet.
But when Tori decided to drop out because she did not have the time to travel from her home in Warwick to all of the events, it became Lateesha's time to shine.
"They made an exception and said you're mature enough for the role,” Lateesha said.
As the teen had helped her sister all along, nothing much changed for Lateesha.
"I officially took over not long a go - the day before the Carnival of Flowers,” she said.
"It's been great. I am loving it.”
The State High School student said she was excited about being a Young Ambassador.
"I really wanted to get my name out there and be part of something in the community,” she said.
Lateesha has done a lot of volunteer work in her young life including volunteering at Snowflakes in Stanthorpe this year.
She loved everything that came with her new role.
"I am looking forward to the races and the float,” Lateesha said.
"I love getting dressed up.”
The high school student, whose dream is to gain a hairdresser apprenticeship in town, said she enjoyed her time with the other ambassadors.
"All the girls are so nice,” she said.
"They're just great. And we're all doing it for the community.”
The next fundraiser Lateesha has organised is a Melbourne Cup lunch at the RSL on November 7.
Tickets are $40 for a three-course meal.
Lateesha said her focus was to help the community host a great event in February and March next year.
"A lot of work goes into it but in the end it's going to be worth it.”
