Ethanol fuel 'safe' for most cars
THE RACQ is urging motorists to choose ethanol-blended E10 fuel, saying 85% of petrol cars in Queensland can use it safely and efficiently.
"Unfortunately for nearly a decade we've been told it's bad for our cars and that it has terrible qualities,” RACQ spokesman Paul Turner said.
"There's still people who think we shouldn't be using it, but our cars are now designed to use it ... there's no downsides to permanently using it.” A new government website allows Queensland drivers to enter their registration number to see whether their car is compatible.
