Entries slow for showgirl quest

WITH only six weeks until judging, there is still only one entrant for the Warwick Showgirl quest.

Now the committee is calling for more ladies to glam-up for the event.

Quest co-ordinator Pam Coy said she believed finding entrants was often a struggle because young women didn't realise how much fun the experience was and how it could open doors for entrants.

Reigning showgirl Kelsey Burt is preparing to hand over her crown to her successor, and while she admits to being a little sad, she is looking forward to the induction of a new winner.

Miss Burt said the quest was a fantastic opportunity to develop personal skills, boost confidence levels and meet a range of new people.

“I made a lot of new friends and little girls would look at me and ask if I was a princess,” Miss Burt said.

Warwick showgirls are showered with gifts, and while the prize list has yet to be finalised, Mrs Coy said it would include a watch, a holiday, cosmetics and more.

Showgirl nominations

Warwick Showgirl entry is open to women aged 18-27.

Entries close on February, 25 and judging will take place March, 12.
