Emerson damaged ministerial office with 27 hooks

FORMER LNP Transport Minister Scott Emerson caused $1400 damage in hanging pictures of himself in his ministerial office, his Labor successor told a Budget estimates hearing.

Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said he had removed 27 hooks, screws and "divots" from the office that Mr Emerson formerly occupied - and this cost about $1400 to repair.

"I have been advised that the former minister, the Member for Indooroopilly, had the wall covered in pictures of himself with other people - but had left an extraordinary level of damage that required $1400 worth or work," he said.

Mr Bailey said Mr Emerson could have spent less than $40 on removable hooks and not damaged the wall.

LNP Southport MP Rob Molhoek suggested the hooks may have been there before Mr Emerson's time, but Mr Emerson did not dispute Mr Bailey's claims.

Mr Bailey said when he had worked as a policy advisor for the previous office occupant, and now premier, Annastacia Palasczuk, the damage was not there.
