Dry conditions stay until weekend

DRY weather conditions will remain in place for much of this week.

Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Greg Browning said conditions would be "reasonably similar" to what Warwick is experiencing now.

"(Today) will be mostly fine conditions, but still a chance of showers around," he said.

"There's lot of low level moisture getting fed from the sea breeze, and a chance of showers. There isn't enough stability to make a strong possibility of thunderstorms, at least for next couple of days."

Isolated thunderstorms and showers will hover in the western regions today, before the instability lessens and the forecast returns to fine conditions.

"The next trough will start to move through Friday, where patchy light rain will develop initially," Mr Browning said.

"The trough will keep going east and there will be mainly cloud, though it's going to be reasonably dry on the surface by Saturday.

"Then the trough will strengthen Sunday and we'll see rain develop again.

"It will be mainly in the west but as it gets later in the day we might see be bit of rain in the east.

"It won't be particularly heavy in the Downs - just patchy light rain."

Temperatures are expected to remain much the same, with lows as much as 12 degrees and the mercury not rising above 25 degrees.
