Drug-driver nods off after dash

A MAN who escaped from police view after a dangerous manoeuvre in his vehicle, was found a short time later after crashing his car.

Dennis William Reseck overtook an unmarked police car and another vehicle on October 19, while on double lines and with a restricted view of oncoming traffic.

The Magistrates Court heard Reseck was forced to veer sharply and other drivers had to take evasive action.

Police lost sight of Reseck, but he was soon found in Wallace St after he fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his car.

The Warwick man told police he had travelled from Toowoomba and was fatigued.

The 59-year-old admitted to having "some cones" the night before the incident and traces of the drug were found in his system.

Reseck was fined $1000 and disqualified from driving for seven months.
