Elderly man injured after metal smashes through windscreen
UPDATE 11.30AM: AN ELDERLY man is being treated for a significant injury after a sheet of metal fell from a vehicle and smashed through his windscreen.
The man, believed to be in his 80s, received a serious hand injury following an incident on the Brisbane Valley Hwy at Fernvale at 9am.
Initial information suggests the sheet of metal came off the back of a vehicle and smashed through the windscreen of a car travelling behind, hitting the driver.
The driver was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a serious hand injury.
UPDATE 10AM: A PATIENT has been taken to the Princess Alexandra hospital with a significant hand injury after an object smashed through their windscreen this morning.
They were taken to hospital in a stable condition.
