Driscoll faces court, adjourned

DISGRACED former Queensland MP Scott Driscoll remained silent as he pushed through a media throng outside the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.

It was the former LNP MP's first court appearance as he faces 16 charges, including fraud and falsifying records.

The Crime and Corruption Commission alleges the 39-year-old's fraud offences involved $750,000 and that he solicited at least $400,000 in secret commissions between August 2011 and May 2013.

He was suspended from the LNP over impropriety allegations last year and later resigned from politics.

The matter was adjourned to November 24.
