Drink drivers nabbed by police

FOREIGN drivers continue to be in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons in Stanthorpe, with two drivers charged with drink driving at the weekend.

Stanthorpe Police nabbed the drivers just two hours apart, with the highest blood-alcohol reading coming in at 0.73.

The 0.73 driver, a 25-year-old man, was intercepted on Mayfair La shortly after midnight on Sunday.

A second driver was pulled over on High St and transported to the police station, where he recorded a blood-alcohol reading of 0.58.

The drink driving charges follow reports a 21-year-old German driver involved in a fatal accident on the New England Hwy on Wednesday night was travelling on the wrong side of the road.
