Drags make return

AFTER a break of three months for the Christmas period, action at the Warwick Dragway hots up again this weekend.

There is qualifying and racing both Saturday and Sunday.

The emphasis on Sunday is on nostalgia cars with some entered from as far away as Long- reach and Sydney.

Warwick District Drag Racing Association member Peter Slade said the nostalgia cars were pre-1978.

"The field will include early Cortinas, Escorts, Ford Customlines, some Chevs from the 1950s, Holdens and Valiant Chargers," Slade said.

Gates open at 10am Saturday with scrutineering from 11am.

Qualifying starts at 1pm with racing from 6pm Saturday at Warwick Raceway.

Gates open at 8am Sunday and racing from 12.30pm.
