URGENT RECALL: Don't put your baby to sleep tonight without reading this

A NATIONAL recall has been issued for a popular baby mattress.

The Troll Nicole, Sun or Lukas-fitting mattresses are the subject of the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission safety recall notice, with some of the mattresses provided possibly undersized.

The recall is for undersized mattresses, as those that result in a gap of 4cm or more between the cot and mattress create an entrapment risk.

The ACCC is advising parents to measure their mattresses immediately to ensure the gap is 4cm or less.

If not, they've encouraged people to contact the makers, Danish by Design and email them photos and information to ensure a replacement mattress is sent out.

The 140cm x 70cm mattress products were sold nationally from January 1, 2013 to October 1, 2017 at specialist baby and children's good suppliers.
