Dig deep for clinic

THE Allora Medical Support Group Inc coffers will receive a significant boost tomorrow evening when community members are invited to a celebration and handover of funds from both the Allora Show Society and Allora Sports Club as a result of the highly successful Allora Mega New Year's Eve Party.

The event, staged at the showgrounds by Ted Cowley and the show society, attracted a huge crowd of locals and visitors, all in aid of the Allora Medical Support Group's bid to have a medical centre built in Herbert St.

While tomorrow evening is a celebration of the success of the New Year event, and a stage to present cheques to the AMSG, it will also feature the first of the two auctions which draw a curtain on the tremendously successful Allora Cattle Drive Auction.

Donations to the cattle drive auction have included livestock, various other goods and cash, with the collection of donated items to go under the hammer of auctioneer Barrie Geitz tomorrow evening.

The list of donations forms an impressive list from an equally impressive group of donors.

All attending can bid on 500 litres of fuel (Glenmar Fuels), $300 vehicle service (Allora Heavy Mechanical), $250 feed voucher (Riverina Stockfeeds), 25 bags of GranAm Fertilizer (Pursehouse Rural), $350 packed meat package (Allora Butchery), $500 livestock produce (Norco Bowdlers), paintings (by Adelle Thomas and Gwen Gillam), $500 carving knife and fork set (made by Libby and Dave Blomfield and a signed Queensland Firebirds netball bib and photo (Laura Geitz) all framed by Perry Cronin's Shark Memorabilia.

Those after a bargain in aid of a new medical centre will have many other opportunities to bid.

The action starts at 7pm, including a free sausage sizzle and entertainment Denny's Band.

The list of donations forms an impressive list from an equally impressive group of donors.
